Venezuelan Foreign Minister in The Hague, tone softens after strained relations
After years of strained relations, Venezuela’s Foreign Minister has appeared in The Hague - and the language on both sides sounds noticeably softer. A brief meeting, cordial words and carefully chosen themes hint at a better relationship between Caracas and The Hague.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Gil Pinto, has paid a brief visit to The Hague, where he held talks among others with his Dutch counterpart Tom Berendsen. In a statement, Gil described the meeting as "cordial", saying the two countries discussed strengthening bilateral relations and good neighbourly ties.
