About us
How It Started
Welcome to The Hague Insider.
A few years ago, I was approached at random by a diplomat from a Southern European country. At the time, I was working as a political reporter in The Hague. The diplomat was looking for knowledge and insight into Dutch politics. What was happening? And what was likely to happen next? Who are the key political players within the governing coalition? Where tensions inside the cabinet lay? And what course the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was expected to take?
That sparked a simple question: what if this diplomat had one place where all of this information was available?
In English. With verified facts, off‑the‑record insights, and on‑background information. News, information, and analysis—ready to use for personal briefings, diplomatic cables, or presentations.
That idea became The Hague Insider: a platform for insiders.
