Development Cooperation Minister Sjoerd Sjoerdsma has rejected calls to bring sick and wounded children from Gaza to the Netherlands for medical treatment, despite growing pressure from PRO, SP, Volt, ChristenUnie and DENK. During a parliamentary debate on Thursday, the minister defended the government's decision to prioritize medical care in the region, arguing that Dutch funding can help significantly more children in Jordan and Egypt.
